Dr. Yiannis Valiantzas is a musicologist, specializing in ethnomusicology, digital humanities, and cultural information management.

He collaborates as the head of digital curation and new technologies with the Laboratory of Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Athens. He is actively involved in informatics and software development, while also engaging in the production of cultural events, having undertaken the organization and execution of productions for many performances in opera, musical theater, and symphonic music at the Athens Festival, the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the Nafplio Festival, the Music In Rhodes Festival, as well as hosting orchestras and ballets from foreign countries such as France, Germany, Russia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, England, and Austria.

He has been a classical guitar professor for many years and is the artistic director at the Evrostini Conservatory. He teaches Ethnomusicology at the Department of Music Studies at the University of Athens.
