In the era of globalization, the sciences of culture are called upon to respond to the challenges of the contemporary multicultural society. The Laboratory of Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology of the Department of Music Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens covers the various – scientific, research, teaching, educational, and artistic – dimensions of the relationship between music and culture. The Laboratory is staffed by faculty members of the Department who possess ample experience in organizing and managing scientific programs in the field of Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology. Additionally, it is supported by postgraduate students and doctoral candidates in the field of Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology of the Department of Music Studies, as well as by external collaborators with proven experience.
