ANAMED Library Talks continue on November 7 with Panagiotis C. Poulos, Eleni Kallimopoulou and Christine Philliou. The talk is entitled “Intercommunal Musical Geographies of Late Ottoman Istanbul”. Intercommunal musical geographies of late Ottoman Istanbul (InterMusiG) is a research project that maps and analyses the fields of intercommunal musical interaction and/or exclusion in late Ottoman Istanbul. Organization of a music workshop at the Arsakeia – Tosiceia Schools

The Laboratory of Ethnomusicology and Cultural Anthropology undertook the organization of an educational music workshop in the context of the annual preparation of the 9th Pan-Arctic Student Conference 2023 in order to cultivate and promote the ethnographic dimension in the study and teaching of music. The Professor of Ethnomusicology Maria Papapavlou and the postdoctoral researcher of Ethnomusicology Panagiota Papageorgiou compiled the educational material and the teaching methodology of the Workshop "Asia Minor Music and Culture" which they presented in an online training meeting to the music teachers of the Arsakian-Tositsian Schools of the country.
